Our second post on how to have a healthier holiday season includes some easy tips you can try before the big holiday meal or party.
1) Drink lots of water - This can help with digestions and help your body recognize when it is feeling full.
2) Eat a snack. - Showing up to a big meal on an empty stomach can lead to overeating. Try a greek yogurt with berries, or a slice of avocado toast with a hard boiled egg to hold you over.
3) Offer to bring a healthy dish to the party. Some ideas might be:
raw veggies + greek yogurt dill dip
hummus + plantain chips
shrimp cocktail
fruit plate
roasted veggies - frozen butternut squash, mashed cauliflower or sweet potatoes are all easy, inexpensive & delicious options. Check out the cheesy hash brown potato recipe below!
